Our client is a world leader in the manufacture of niche components and for a variety of sectors across the globe.
Job Role – Design Engineer
The Design Engineer will adapt standard and create bespoke designs using SolidWorks 3D CAD software to meet individual customer needs. The designs will be directed through to our on-site press brake production team.
Duties – Design Engineer
• Adapt existing standard designs using 3D CAD system (SolidWorks).
• Create bespoke designs to suit customer’s applications.
• Provide 2D drawings to aid manufacturing.
• Create cost effective design solutions suitable for manufacturing.
• Interpret customer needs into reliable and consistently performing tooling solutions.
• Provide technical assistance to support internal & external sales teams.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and testing personnel. (Involvement in technical
testing will be required)
• Ensure that all design work is undertaken with high attention to detail, whilst also achieving department throughput KPI’s.
• Customer facing role – expectations of communicating directly to customers via e-mail and phone calls.
Experience/Qualifications – Design Engineer
• Mechanical Engineering background
• Knowledge of tool manufacturing and CNC machining processes
• Knowledge of Press Brake manufacturing processes
Candidates who are currently a Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Estimating Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer and Project Engineer could be suitable for this role.
