Transport Planner – General Haulage

Due to continued growth my Client based close to Skipton is seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join their Team with immediate effect.

You will be joining a highly successful business who are growing their Teams and Fleet across all areas.

The role itself is varied and is fast paced, working Monday to Thursday (46 hours per week) – flexibility it required in relation to additional cover/on call when required.

Role and Responsibilities

·Daily planning of routes throughout the UK (approx. 55 vehicles)

·Communicating with Drivers and Customers

· Planning the loading of trailers for groupage deliveries

· Using fleet tracking to plan routes and to optimise fuel efficiency

· Liaising with fleet maintenance operations to co-ordinate vehicle and trailer servicing and MOT’s

· Working collaboratively with the Customer Advisors team to resolve issues

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Previous experience of the transport and logistics sector is essential

· Must have General Haulage experience

· 2 years’ experience in a Traffic Office or in a similar role is required

Preferred Qualities and Skills

· Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network

· Excellent knowledge of tachograph/Digi-card rules and regulations

· Proficient use of Microsoft office and comfortable with learning new and in-house software systems

The role is full-time/permanent

An annual salary of up to £35,000 will be offered based upon experience.
