Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to join one of our most successful clients within the Scottish Water Framework. Our client strives to improve lives through building essential infrastructure, providing growth opportunities for our people, and promoting best practices within our supply chain. As the Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in driving the successful commissioning of our assets which includes Motor Control Centres, Pumping Plant, Process Equipment, Standby Generation Equipment, and various other instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site commissioning activities for designated projects.
  • Produce regular project and Commissioning Completion Reports.
  • Ensure commissioning complies with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Timely production of necessary commissioning documentation.
  • Develop commissioning plans during pricing and design phases.
  • Engage effectively with Scottish Water CSD staff to integrate assets seamlessly.
  • Supervise off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Adhere to strict change control procedures.
  • Share best practices and knowledge within the team as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or ICA, or extensive proven experience.
  • Solid site-based commissioning installation (M&E) experience, preferably in the water industry in Scotland.
  • Knowledge of PLC software packages is essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel when required.
  • Valid CSCS or SHEA Water card.
