Large Molecule Discovery within client is a department dedicated to the discovery of novel and effectivebiopharmaceutical medicines. This department comprises several complementary functions focused onthe progression of a portfolio of biopharmaceuticals from initial antibody discovery, expression andcharacterisation, to molecular engineering and biological and physiochemical profiling. Within the LargeMolecule Discovery Unit, the Molecular Design and Engineering (MDE) group takes accountability forantibody engineering and develop ability profiling prior to candidate selection to continuously improvemolecule quality and transform discovered leads into potential therapeutics.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated scientist to join the Develop abilityTechnologies group within MDE and working within a matrix role. The role will be primarily lab focused, working with teams of scientists with diverse skills including protein biochemists,in vitroandex vivoassayscientists, antibody pharmacologists and molecular biologists as well as in close partnership with otherparts of the organisation. It will involve using high throughput methods to rapidly profile large panelsof antibodies and performing interpretations on the generated data in the early discovery phase. Theseactivities will focus onin vitroprediction of antibody characteristics during exposurein vivo.

Key responsibilities:
oRunning high throughput methods to predictin vitroantibody characteristics during exposurein vivo, which might include chromatography based analytical techniques (SEC-HPLC, CIEX-HPLC)as well asELISA and flow based methods.
oDesign, qualify and execute experiments to characterise antibody panels e.g. non-specific bindingmeasurements using flow cytometry and ELISA methods as well as determining binding of antibodiesto antigen after incubation in serum.
oUtilizing automated liquid handling systems to execute experiments
oPlanning, designing and executing experiments to enable key decisions
oWorking independently to analyse and interpret your data, providing clear recommendations toproject teams
oEffectiverecordingandcommunicationofyourworkinlabnotebooks,labreportsandpublishing/presenting both internally and externally
oWorking effectively in matrix teams and delivering defined objectives in accordance with agreedtimelines
oDemonstrate exemplary scientific habits, actively keeping up to date with relevant literature and newtechnologies
oAdhere to safety and other company rules and regulations, maintain lab equipment and reagents
when appropriate
oDeveloping & implementing high throughput methods to predictin vitroantibody characteristicsduring exposurein vivo
