The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our engineering team in Stevenage. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about safety and has the expertise to lead health and safety initiatives across multiple projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Lead safety audits, inspections, and compliance checks on engineering projects.
- Provide expert advice and training to managers and employees on health and safety practices.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, recommending preventive actions.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
- Monitor changes in health and safety regulations and update company policies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Have a construction background
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager, ideally within the engineering or construction sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
