Position Available: Risk & Insurance Manager
Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid) & Dynamic Working Hours
Salary: Up to £57,000 + Paid Overtime & Company Bonus
Experience needed: You would need to have a strong understanding of risk & insurance principles and have an understanding of the standard insurance policies a company would have in place.
About the role
A key position has arisen at a leading defence company within their Risk Management and Insurance team providing an interesting opportunity to be involved in a broad range of insurance and risk management activities. You will need to develop and work with both internal and external contacts (e.g. brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and other risk and insurance professionals).
The department is responsible for facilitating and promoting risk management across the business. It is also responsible for the provision and management of our insurance programme. It is a multinational team with a Risk and Insurance Manager in each national branch as well as group roles. The role will allow you to be involved across different parts of the business and across different countries including France, Italy, Germany and UK where you will be based.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing insurance and claims
- Organising UK crisis management and business continuity exercises
- Supporting risk management and insurance across the group
- Serving as the primary insurance contact for our overseas offices
- Organising risk surveys and coordinate responses to insurer recommendations
- Developing insurance and risk management solutions for complex exposures
- Maintaining UK risk and insurance content on the intranet
What we need from you:
- A strong understanding of risk and insurance principles
- An understanding of the standard insurance policies a company would have in place
- Ability to explain, encourage and persuade people to undertake appropriate risk management and insurance practices
- A helpful and understanding but objective approach is necessary, particularly when dealing with insurance claimants
