MLC Partners are supporting a reputable Mental Health Trust who are seeking a Head of Physical Healthcare to provide operational nursing advice and expertise, leadership and management in physical healthcare, ensuring the registered and unregistered nursing workforce delivers the highest standards of healthcare.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing direction to clinicians and clinical leads delivering care in physical health relation to evidence based physical health practice, and to represent the views of nurses in Trust-wide forums.
  • Working with the Clinical Directors, Deputy Medical Director and Heads of professions to ensure that all services have a clear clinical model of physical healthcare delivery, that staff understand their roles and inputs in relation to this, and that a system of agreed quality metrics is used to demonstrate efficacy of physical healthcare delivery.
  • Developing the most effective physical healthcare pathways for service users through collaboration with other professionals and key stakeholders, which are in line with the clinical vision and agreed clinical models of service delivery model.
  • The post holder will be a core member of the Quality and Safety Directorate and play a key role in ensuring that all aspects of physical health care is delivered to agreed high standards, to provide the best possible experience and outcome for service users across the services.

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • First Level Registered General Nurse (RGN)
  • Experience of working in a senior nursing post
  • Extensive knowledge of service issues and priorities facing learning disability and mental health services and in relation to physical health
