Bennett & Game are delighted to be working with a multi-award winning accountancy practice, based in Stevenage, as they recruit for a VAT & Bookkeeping manager. They are offering up to 35k (DOE), flexible hours (can be part time), CPD, and increasing holiday allowances
The firm have been in operation since 2006, and was awarded 'growing business of the year' in 2011. Since they have gone strength to strength, with 2 offices, and a dedicated team.
Within the position of VAT & Bookkeeping manager, you will be in charge over overseeing the entire VAT function of the practice, and overseeing a team of bookkeepers.
VAT Manager Job Overview
- VAT Compliance and Advisory - Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT returns for clients across various industries. Reviewing complex VAT returns and providing advisory support.
- Bookkeeping oversight - Manage and review bookkeeping assignments, to ensure accuracy. Provide guidance and training to junior members of the bookkeeping team
- Client Management - Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding VAT and bookkeeping matters
- Team Leadership - Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants
- Process improvement - develop and improve VAT and bookkeeping processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
VAT Manager Job Requirements
- AAT Level 3 qualified
- Minimum of 3 years accountancy practice experience
- Experienced in VAT and Bookkeeping
- Excellent managerial, leadership, and organisational skills
- Able to commute to Stevenage
- No requirement for visa sponsorship
VAT Manager Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary, ranging from (phone number removed) (DOE)
- Statutory holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Holiday allowance increases by 1 day after every year of service
- Flexible working hours. Full time is preferred
- Option for part time work, minimum of 20 hours a week
