They are now seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team on a 12 to 14 month maternity cover contract.

Starting mid-March 2025, this position offers a comprehensive handover period, ensuring you’re set up for success from day one.

The Role:

As part of a people-first organisation, you’ll be at the heart of payroll operations, supporting a business that truly cares about its employees. Working closely with the People team, you’ll be responsible for accurately processing payroll for around 220 employees. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Running monthly payroll for office and operational staff
  • Managing Tax Year End and starting the new tax year smoothly
  • Handling P11Ds and submitting filings to HMRC
  • Administering company pension schemes and auto-enrolment
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance and handling corporate reporting requirements
  • Collaborating with external companies to meet compliance standards
  • Preparing payroll reports and reconciliations for audits
  • Supporting payroll-related benefits processing with the People team
  • Contributing to process improvements and maintaining documentation

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP and tax year-end processes
  • Experience developing and maintaining payroll procedures in line with legislation
  • A keen eye for accuracy and detail, especially with payroll reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work with numbers confidently
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage tight deadlines
  • A passion for continuous improvement and efficiency
