Legal Secretary Conveyancing Based in Hertfordshire/North London borders - contact us for the exact location (we withhold location details for client confidentiality) Negotiable salary from £32,000 p.a. plus, depending on experience!Full-time hours - can be flexible with start and finish times Free on-site secure parking A friendly and progressive medium size law firm based in Hertfordshire are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary with a good level of legal knowledge in Residential Conveyancing. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience, if you have less experience but feel you have the knowledge to work without having everything dictated we would be interested in receiving your application.Conveyancing Legal Secretary skills, attributes and experience required:
  • Ideally 5 + years experience in assisting with Residential Conveyancing files
  • The ideal candidate will live locally in North East London, North London, Enfield, Barnet, Hertfordshire or surrounding areas - easy transport connections
  • A Legal Secretary who is looking to progress and get more involved
  • Fast and accurate typing
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel skills
  • Willing and eager to learn and take on more responsibility and work on your own initiative without dictation
  • User of LMS and Lender Exchange and the Land Registry Portal
  • Must understand the basic elements of Freehold and Leasehold titles
Conveyancing Legal Secretary duties will include:
  • Open files and deal with AML requirements
  • Send quotes and client care letters
  • Send initial letters to agents and solicitors and draft contracts
  • Obtain office copies
  • Request searches; local authority, water and land registry
  • Draft TR1 and replies to requisitions;
  • Complete SDLT forms
  • Prepare AP1 applications and restriction forms both to apply and remove
  • Prepare post completion notices
