Part-Time Conveyancing Paralegal

Our well-established client based in Hertfordshire is recruiting a Part-Time experienced Paralegal to join their busy team. This role will be a job share working 3 days one week and 2 days the next week and alternating - the days are Wednesday and Thursday every week and alternate Fridays. The successful candidate will be expected to cover the other half of the job share’s holidays and able to work a full week when required. The working hours are 9am - 5.30pm, but there can be some flexibility. This role offers a generous salary pro rata depending on experience.

The Paralegal will be required to carry out all conveyancing work from exchange to post completion without dictation and candidates should ideally have experience in exchanging contracts, but some training can be provided if not.

The role:

  • Answer telephone calls and enquiries
  • Proven experience of handling own caseload
  • Carry out all conveyancing work from exchange to post completion without dictation
  • Capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets
  • To carry out land registry searches and complete the necessary documentation with high level of accuracy.
  • Good drafting and writing skills, excellent communication and technical ability
  • To administer systems which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the office manual.
  • To make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain up-to-date diary for the partner/manager/fee earner.
  • Ability to adhere to and manage deadlines
  • To ensure confidentiality of all practice, client documentation and information.
  • Comply with all external legislative and compliance requirements as placed on the Firm by the SRA and other official bodies.
  • Comply with internal procedures and systems of the Firm including file and case management, file audits, client due diligence and time recording.
  • To maintain professional standards at all times.
