About The Role
M Group Services Energy Divisionis recruiting for aEnergy Division Electrical Safety Engineering Manager
As the Energy Division Electrical Safety Engineering Manager,you will be part of ourCentral SHEQ Departmentwho are responsibleforsupporting the business deliver projects safely. The department works to ensure that the business is Compliant with working to legislative requirements, Policies and procedures.
The Energy Division Electrical Safety Engineering Managersprincipal duty is to ensure all staff that work or operate on or near the various electricity networks conduct themselves in accordance with M Group, Energy Division, Client safety procedures and industry accreditations including NERS.
The Energy Division Electrical Safety Engineering Managerreports to the Energy Division Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Director
As the Energy Division Electrical Safety Engineering Manageryour duties & responsibilities willinclude:
  • Ensuring all staff are determined as operationally competent for their assigned duties in writing
  • Maintaining and developing all electrical external accreditations
  • Maintain written policies and procedures across the whole scope of MUS electrical work
  • Develop new documentation and processes as necessary
  • Manage the team to provide a service across all electrical work streams to ensure a consistent approach to Competency
  • Develop and implement in association with other personnel electronic field records
  • Support the wider business interest including business opportunities
  • Represent MES at national forums including:
  • Energy Network Association (ENA)
  • Lloyds Register NERS Forum
  • Lloyds Register NERSAP
  • National Skills Academy for Power (NSAP)
  • Association of Meter Operators (AMO)
  • Meter Operators Code of Practice Agreement (MOCOPA)
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Educated to HNC or equivalent but Degree level preferred
  • Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET)
  • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer preferred
  • NICEIC
  • Hold a Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH
  • Have a strong operational background preferably in association with DNOs or similar organisations
  • Knowledge of Smart Metering and BS7671
  • Team Management
  • Have good interpersonal skills and demonstrate clear safety behaviours
  • Have a clear focus on operational safety
  • Have an understanding of the development of the power industry and its challenges
M Group Energy Division are a national business and there is a requirement to travel throughout the UK and spend some nights away from home as required to undertake the role.
