Mechanical Architect

6 month contract

Based in Stevenage

Offering £60ph Inside IR35

As the Mechanical Architect, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

You will be involved in:

  • Establishing the TRS to ensure a structured & coherent mechanical response to the overall TRS
  • Management of the mechanical interface
  • Management of Mechanical & Thermal Interfaces across the product
  • Defining the optimum mechanical architecture for all variants of the product, ensuring the mechanical architecture and interfaces meet requirements
  • Implementation of GMA Policies to ensure Modularity & Reuse objectives are achieved
  • Development of the overall proving logic
  • Ensuring mechanical compliance to the TRS for product certificate of design
  • Producing Statements of Work and plans

Your skillset may include:

  • Experience of mechanical engineering
  • Ability to technically manage internal & sub-contract activities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good knowledge & experience of mechanical design, including: Static & Dynamic Analysis, Design for Environment, Thermal Management
  • Good understanding of engineering disciplines, including: Aerodynamics, Testability, Production
  • Experience developing proving logic and managing the generation of compliance evidence towards Certificates of Design
  • Experience across the full Product Life Cycle
