The Opportunity:

Due to an increasing workload, we are seeking experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to support all stages of the Product Life Cycle, from Mechanical Future Concepts and Detailed Design to Qualification, Production, and In-service Support. In this role, you will be leading the development of mechanical solutions for a range of complex weapons and systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What We're Looking for:

  • Ideally, a Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with significant experience in Mechanical Design and Development.
  • Proven ability to lead mechanical design projects and experience working within a multidisciplinary team, with an understanding of the challenges that arise in such an environment.
  • Knowledge of proving and qualification activities to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Extensive design experience using techniques such as DFMEA, DFA, and DFM.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience in supplier engagement and working with both internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
  • Awareness and understanding of cultural differences, with the ability to adapt accordingly.
  • A positive, helpful attitude, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues efficiently.
  • Experience in structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD/CAE tools (training on preferred CAE tools will be provided).

Note: This role may require occasional travel within the UK and potentially some travel across Europe.
