Working within a supportive environment you will be responsible for preparing accounts for clients and managing the client Payroll along with the external provider. Main responsibilities for the Accounts and Payroll Assistant will be:
  • Prepare accounts up to trial balance for a range of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Manage and process client payrolls accurately and on time, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Address client payroll queries, advising on PAYE, NIC, statutory payments, and pension contributions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including bank reconciliations, using software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
You will:
  • Have previous Bookkeeping experience ideally within a Practice firm
  • Have experience of Payroll process’ or be open to learning the Payroll side of the role
  • Be able to work in the office 5 days a week
  • Be studying towards or fully qualified AAT
