My client is looking for a Payroll Assistant to administer payroll, complete weekly checks, and support Managers with employee payments. The ideal candidate needs to have a passion for payroll and be self-motivated to ensure that month-end balances are accurate.

 Although the payroll is monthly, it is calculated and checked weekly. This is a fast-paced environment but very enjoyable!My client uses a fully automated system called iTrent. Job Responsibilities:

  • Verify weekly payments and absences that have been input by Managers.
  • Identify and potentially rectify any discrepancies.
  • Upload and check data spreadsheets into the payroll system.
  • Create reports with information pertaining to payroll.
  • Handle voluntary and involuntary deductions.
  • Enter changes to employee payroll and HR records.
  • Reconcile the monthly payroll with generated reports.
  • Action leavers and any department transfers (approximately 40-60 per month).
  • Track underlying trends with issues such as absence.
  • Communicate with Managers and employees regarding changes in role, salary, benefits, etc.
  • Support the HR function with uniform ordering and invoice reconciliation.
  • Maintain awareness of pension legislation and reporting.
  • Provide overall administrative support to the HR department, including maintaining and processing documentation and records.
 The Candidate:
  • Payroll experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of Midland HR/iTrent HR/Payroll is desirable.
  • Candidates must be highly proficient in Excel.
  • The role reports directly to the HR & Payroll Manager.
 The successful candidate will be part of a small team but should be equally happy working independently. This is a part-time role; however, when the HR & Payroll Manager is absent, it may be necessary to work overtime to ensure the smooth running of the Department. Details:The salary is based on 18 hours per week, with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of £24,500 per annum.The hours of work are Monday 9.00am - 5.00pm, with flexible hours for Friday and one other day of the week.
