Position: Locum Pharmacist
Location: Hertfordshire, NHS Hospital
Contract Length: 2-3 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP (December 2024)
Working Hours:

  • Option 1: 2 full days per week (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break)
  • Option 2: 5 days per week (3 hours per day, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Pay Rate: £24 - £32 per hour (via Umbrella)

Job Description:

Our NHS client is seeking a Locum Pharmacist for an exciting outpatient role within a NHS Hospital in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists who are newly registered with the GPHC or those with community pharmacy experience looking to gain experience in a hospital setting.

In this role, you will primarily be involved in medication screening for outpatient patients. You will work alongside a supportive pharmacy team and gain valuable NHS experience, further enhancing your skills and knowledge in a hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medication screening for outpatient prescriptions
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of medications
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
  • Provide professional advice and support on medicines management
  • Ensure compliance with GPHC and hospital standards

Ideal Candidate:

  • Newly qualified or GPHC registered pharmacist
  • Community pharmacy experience or hospital pharmacy exposure (ideal but not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Motivated and eager to expand your hospital pharmacy experience
