What you’ll be doing

As our Senior Communications Executive you will play a key role in delivering our internal and external communications strategy. You’ll be responsible for crafting compelling messages that resonate with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior leaders and colleagues through to journalists and members. Whether it’s developing content for internal campaigns or writing speeches for executives, you’ll ensure that communications are clear, engaging, and aligned with the IET's mission.

You will also manage multiple communication channels, including the intranet and social media, ensuring that both internal and external audiences stay informed and engaged. Your work will involve coordinating with senior stakeholders to transform their messages into impactful copy, contributing to major events, and driving awareness of key initiatives through innovative campaigns. Additionally, you’ll be tasked with building relationships with the media, handling press enquiries, and pitching stories that enhance the IET’s profile.

Alongside content creation, you’ll oversee the reporting and analysis of communication efforts, ensuring continuous improvement. By monitoring performance and engagement metrics, you’ll help the team adapt and refine strategies to enhance the IET’s visibility and reputation. Your ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a creative flair will be key to your success in this dynamic role.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring consistent and aligned messaging across departments.
  • Support the production of presentations and briefing documents for senior stakeholders ahead of media and public engagements.
  • Assist with internal events and broadcast communications to keep employees informed and engaged.
