Purpose of the role:
The Head of Quality and Governance provides leadership and strategic direction for the Quality and Governance Team. This role ensures the implementation and coordination of functions related to patient safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and accreditation standards.

The post holder works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring services are safe, effective, and aligned with best practices.

Additionally, the role includes oversight of compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and accreditation standards, including UKAS ISO 15189. They are looking for someone with extensive experience in Quality Assurance, governance, and implementation of ISO standards. Someone who is working or has worked for UKAS or FSR as we are going through significant project on ISO 15189.

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Quality and Governance Team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and accountability within the team and the wider organisation. Develop and deliver training resources in collaboration with operational teams to enhance patient safety knowledge and practice.

You will have a proven understanding of patient safety strategies, quality assurance, and governance frameworks. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with CQC regulations and compliance processes.
