Business Development Manager | Stevenage | Full Time – 40 hours per week | £35,000 – £45,000 per annum plus OTE £50,000 – £75,000

Our client is an MSP, a trusted IT partner to its clients in the Life Science and B2B SME sectors. Established in 2007, they now operate from five IT hubs around the UK, with their HQ in Manchester. In 2021, they became the UK's leading IT partner for the UK Life Science sector. Since then, the company has doubled in size and secured a unique set of accreditations, a major differentiator. This position is essential for accelerating growth and increasing market share in the sector. We expect to make similar appointments around the UK over the next 12-18 months as we grow our market share.

This Business Development Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth for the UK's leading IT partner in the Life Science sector. As a key player in a rapidly expanding company, you'll have the chance to shape strategic plans, build client relationships, and make a significant impact in a dynamic industry.   • Proven experience in a business development, sales, or account management role
  • Strong understanding of Life Sciences and IT sectors and market dynamics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for growth
  • Ability to understand the client's business and how we can contribute to their goals
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

What will your role look like?

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth targets
  • Base will be hybrid local Science Park and home, ideally most of your time will be with clients
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and emerging markets
  • Identify and qualify potential leads and convert them into long-term clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to client needs
  • Negotiate contracts and close business deals that align with company objectives
  • Work closely with internal technical teams to design and cost client solutions
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company
  • Track and report on key performance metrics (e.g., pipeline development, revenue targets)
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on business development progress
