Are you an experienced SEN Tutor or a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs in the education and training sector? We are looking for an empathetic and committed SEN Tutor to join a fantastic team in Stevenage. This role offers the opportunity to provide personalized, one-on-one support to students with a range of learning needs, including Functional Skills and GCSE preparation.

Location: Stevenage
Pay: 130 - 150 per day
Sector: Education and Training
Hours: 08:30 - 16:30
SEN Tutor Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions to students with SEN, focusing on their unique learning styles and needs.
- Support students in their academic and social development, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Monitor and track student progress, collaborating with the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.
- Adapt and modify teaching materials to make them accessible for all students.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students, boosting their confidence and helping them achieve their potential.
- About You:
- Proven experience as an SEN Tutor, including experience delivering Functional Skills and GCSE tutoring.
- Strong understanding of various learning needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, dyslexia) and effective strategies for supporting SEN students.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Skilled in adapting lessons to meet the diverse abilities and needs of students.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
- Ideally based in or around Stevenage, with the ability to commute easily to the role.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience with SEN, ideally with a background in Functional Skills and GCSE curriculum.
- Strong understanding of different learning difficulties (e.g., Autism, ADHD, dyslexia) and how to support students with SEN effectively.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a passion for helping students reach their potential.
- Ability to adapt lessons to cater to a wide range of abilities and learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and their families.
- Ability to drive or commute to Stevenage and surrounding areas.
