About the Role:

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and qualified Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary School in Southampton from January 2025 on a long-term contract, running until July 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching RE across Key Stage 3 and 4, and a strong understanding of the curriculum. This is a full-time teaching role where you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and working collaboratively with colleagues in the department. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or a Early Career Teacher (ECT), this position offers a supportive environment and the opportunity for long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4
• Develop and deliver a curriculum that is both thought-provoking and inclusive
• Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive, respectful learning atmosphere
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the RE curriculum
• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to improve student outcomes
• Support students in their academic and personal development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have recent experience teaching Religious Education in UK secondary schools
• Be committed to raising attainment and supporting student progress
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and a positive, inclusive teaching style
• Be adaptable and confident working in a variety of teaching environments
• Show a passion for Religious Education and a dedication to inspiring students
• Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Have a track record of delivering lessons that are engaging, relevant, and effective
