An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accounting Manager to join a dynamic and innovative international organisation. This role offers a competitive salary of £70,000 - £75,000 and is based in South Manchester. The successful candidate will have the chance to take charge of regional finance operations with a high degree of autonomy, implementing and driving key financial strategies that align with the broader objectives of the organisation. What you'll do:

As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, compliance, and reporting for the UK & Ireland regions. You will supervise accounting departments across multiple divisions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in line with IFRS, local GAAP, and other regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for closing company accounts and leading multi-entity financial consolidation processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities also include managing compliance filings such as tax returns, VAT, and statutory accounts, as well as overseeing the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the UK & Ireland. You will be expected to lead both local and remote accounting teams, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure professional development and alignment with broader business objectives.

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, compliance, and reporting for the UK & Ireland regions
  • Supervise accounting teams across two divisions in the UK and one in Ireland
  • Manage the general accounting functions across multiple entities in the UK & Ireland
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Lead financial consolidation and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Perform financial analysis to support strategic business decisions and cost-saving initiatives
  • Lead the preparation of tax filings, VAT returns, and statutory consolidation
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process for the region
  • Ensure compliance with all local financial regulations and audit requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams, fostering a high-performance culture

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Accounting Manager position will have significant experience in a corporate or group finance role, combined with proven leadership capabilities. As a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA). Your ability to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, combined with excellent problem-solving skills, will be key to your success in this role.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial modelling and reporting
