The Advocate Group is working with a leading food company with an incredible presence in the UK market, and some of the best-known brands! They are now looking and is looking for a fantastic Assistant Site Accountant to join them. You will play a pivotal role in driving ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently for their Manchester site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure decisions, plans, and strategies are based on strong commercial and financial insights.
  • Monitor and report on performance against budgets and forecasts and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and group accounting standards, and address any issues as needed.
  • Partner with site cost centre managers, providing support to help manage overheads effectively.
  • Manage the site’s budget and handle the monthly forecasting process.
  • Oversee standard product costing and provide financial guidance for new product development.
  • Collaborate with project leads on capital reporting and forecasting needs.
  • Analyse site performance on prime costs and overheads and manage period-end reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls by managing the site asset register, including timely capitalization, disposal, and verification.
  • Perform regular balance sheet reconciliation reviews.
  • Lead and support the offshore team, offering development training and serving as their main point of contact.
  • Report directly to the regional finance manager and leadership team.

About You:

  • CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified, or currently working towards completing the qualification.
  • Proficient in Excel and SAP.
  • Ability to simplify complex financial analysis, ideally with experience in FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Solid costing experience within FMCG/manufacturing environments.
  • Background in financial reporting and control from a similar organization.
  • Proven experience in delivering accurate and valuable financial analysis, planning, and forecasting.
  • Skilled in financial analysis, modelling, and investment appraisal techniques.
  • Strong communicator and leader, able to build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Open to challenging existing processes and driving improvements.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
