An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a leading utility engineering contractor in Stockport. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £26,000 and involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and supporting various accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process invoices, expense claims, and financial documents accurately.
  • Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
  • Maintain accounts payable/receivable records and assist in financial report preparation.
  • Handle data entry, resolve billing discrepancies, and monitor outstanding payments.
  • Communicate with vendors and support the finance team with ad hoc tasks.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and excellent numerical accuracy.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in accounts payable/receivable and an AAT qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
