JGA is partnering with a leading organization in its sector, seeking an Interim Head of Payroll to oversee a high-volume, complex payroll operation and lead a dedicated payroll team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll operations across 11 entities, including future acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with HR on benefit reporting and payroll-related processes.
  • Lead and support a small payroll team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Process new starters, leavers, statutory deductions, and third-party payments.
  • Oversee timesheet collation and overtime payments.
  • Communicate payroll changes across the business.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Submit monthly pension contributions to providers.
  • Prepare cost journals for PAYE payroll and compile financial reports.
  • Support annual external audits and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Address employee payroll queries promptly and effectively.
Key Requirements:
  • Extensive experience managing high-volume, multi-entity payroll operations.
  • Proven leadership in managing small payroll teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processes.
  • Experience in integrating payroll for new acquisitions.
  • Skilled in leading payroll and business transformation projects.
  • Compliance-driven, with a deep understanding of legislative requirements.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Track record of managing centralized payroll functions and meeting tight deadlines.
