Reeson education are currently seeking a teaching assistant to work within one of our partner schools in SK5. The school is described as having a 'family feel' and being an environment where individuals are nurtured and valued, and staff make a real effort to get to know them and their lives outside school.

About the teaching assistant role:

  • The nature of the role is to work as a teaching assistant within a Year 3 class with a girl who has SEMH needs, on a 1:1 basis.
  • The teaching assistant role is confirmed until the end of the academic year and with the possibility to extend beyond and remain with the pupil in the new academic year.
  • You will be working closely with the class teacher and pastoral team to ensure correct plans are in place to best assist the young girl.
  • She has SEMH needs which can lead to her becoming emotionally dysregulated.
  • There are some behavioural needs, but the school massively support the pupil, and you will work collectively as a team throughout the day to make sure the appointed teaching assistant also feels supported.

An immediate start is required for the teaching assistant role, and you must be able to able to work 30 hours plus per week, please do not apply for this role if you are unable to fulfil the full hours and days required.

As A Teaching Assistant You will have:

  • Teaching assistant level 1, 2 or 3, or equivalent (But not essential)
  • Two references- at least one ideally from an education provider or similar setting
  • Able to work as part of a team and support the ethos of a school
  • Experience supporting varying levels of need and abilities as a teaching assistant
  • Experience of providing a positive learning environment as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
