About the Company:Our client is a leading global retail organisation with a strong presence in Stockport. As they continue to expand and grow, they are seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner position:

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide support to departments in preparing and submitting budget proposals.
    • Deliver accurate and timely financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
    • Continuously monitor performance against the budget, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
  2. P&L Management & Analysis
    • Take ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, evaluating financial performance against targets and delivering regular updates to key stakeholders.
    • Provide in-depth analysis on revenue, margins, and expenses, identifying areas for cost-saving and margin improvement.
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand and manage their financial performance, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
  3. Business Partnering
    • Act as a strategic advisor and trusted financial partner to department leaders, helping them understand financial implications and drive business performance.
    • Deliver insightful financial analysis and reports to senior management, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.
    • Support cross-functional teams by providing financial insights on projects, business cases, and investment decisions.
  4. Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Deliver clear and concise financial information and performance metrics to senior management, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis.
  • Proven track record of partnering with non-financial teams to drive performance and influence decision-making.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and competent Excel skills.
