Reed is so excited to be working with a market leader in Stockport for the first time on their search for an Estimator. Due to company growth, my client are looking for someone to step in as an Estimator to help with the pricing of products, and to action customer requests in accordance with targets and deadlines.

This role is perfect for someone who is looking for their entry point into estimating and has shown longevity, dedication, and ambition throughout their career, or for someone from a production background looking for a way into the market. I am looking for candidate's who have some experience working within supply chain and negotiating, who are analytical and numerically skilled, and who have strong IT skills on systems such as Sage & Excel.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn a niche industry grow within it, and is excited by the prospect of working in a collaborative office environment, directly with other departments. May I also add that the office you'll be working with has out-of-this-world facilities, is easily accessible from Manchester City Centre, and has free parking! 

Role Title - Estimator

Salary - Up to £30,000

Location - Stockport

Hours - 09:00 - 17:30

Job Type - Permanent, Fully On-Site

Key Accountabilities

  • Costing and Pricing: Cost and price products in line with customer requirements.
  • Margin Maximisation: Maximise margin against agreed levels for all lines.
  • Margin Mix Understanding: Understand margin mix to achieve an optimal balance between sales revenue and margin protection.
  • Daily Reporting: Generate a daily Estimating overview report.
  • Process Development: Create and develop processes and systems to calculate costs and margin.
  • Operational Understanding: Have a strong understanding of all operational processes and their impact on manufacturing costs.
  • Material Knowledge: Possess excellent understanding of materials and packaging costs.
  • Quality Balance: Achieve the optimal balance between product quality and customer requirements.
  • Competitor Knowledge: Maintain broad knowledge of key competitors, specifically their pricing and product quality.
  • Response Time: Minimise response time to customer requests and prioritise key customers where appropriate.
  • Quotation Maximisation: Maximise margin on all quotations.
  • Price Evaluation: Constantly evaluate product selling prices and trends to ensure competitiveness in the market.
  • Conversion Targets: Meet agreed conversion targets set by the Estimating Manager.
  • Supplier Monitoring: Identify and monitor suppliers to ensure delivery in line with company values, cost-effectiveness, and product suitability.
  • Price Negotiation: Negotiate fixed price periods with suppliers.
  • Cost Savings: Identify and deliver cost savings.
  • Product Review: Produce, review, and update accurate product review schedules within agreed timescales.
  • Quality Monitoring: Monitor product quality and supplier performance against agreed standards.
