Overall Job Purpose

The HR Advisor provides comprehensive HR advice, support, and coaching to managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle. They work closely with HR Business Partners, the HR Operations team, and other parts of the people team, building strong relationships with business stakeholders and acting as an ambassador for the People team and Company Values.

Shift Length - 7 hours over 3 days, 5 hours over 4 days, 4 hours over 5 days etc

Tasks/Responsibilities

  1. First Point of Contact: Provide advice and coaching to managers on HR lifecycle implementation, ensuring queries are resolved and guidance is given in line with policies, processes, best practice employment law, and values.
  2. Employee Relations: Guide, advise, and support managers on individual employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, capability, grievance, and flexible working cases. Attend formal meetings and escalate higher risk or complex cases to the HR Business Partner.
  3. Employment Tribunal Preparation: Work closely with the HR Business Partner to prepare materials and responses for employment tribunal cases, collaborating with legal advisers as needed.
  4. BAU People Processes: Support the HR Business Partner with key business-as-usual people processes and activities, such as annual salary review, bonus calibration and implementation, interim increase process, and annual benefits renewal.
  5. Escalation Point: Resolve complex or challenging queries from the HR Operations team satisfactorily and without delay.
  6. Change Management: Assist in delivering change management initiatives to support the transformation and growth of the organisation.
  7. Relationship Building: Build effective and trusted working relationships with people managers in their aligned area of support.
  8. Policy Development: Develop employee policies and guidance, continuously improving policies, processes, and guidance.
  9. Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives and highlight any issues as appropriate.
  10. Data Analysis: Support the HR Business Partner with producing people data analysis packs for stakeholders.
  11. Projects: Undertake wider people team projects as required.
Career Level
  • Good level of secondary education with working knowledge and experience in HR gained through relevant work experience.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience at HR Advisor level
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
  • Up-to-date employment law knowledge with experience in handling a full range of employee relations issues
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience
  • Experience in a fast-growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence front-line managers
  • Strong data analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong written communication skills (letter/report writing ability)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
