Stores & Purchasing Controller

Salary: £31,000

Shift: Monday – Friday

Location: Stockport

A proactive and detail-oriented Stores & Purchasing Controller role is now available to join a dynamic engineering team at a market-leading company. As a Stores & Purchasing Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our engineering stores, maintaining optimal stock levels, and working with both systems and people to improve efficiency across the plant. Key Responsibilities for the Stores & Purchasing Controller:

  • Stock Management: Ensure stock levels are maintained accurately and timely, ensuring essential parts are always available to minimize downtime.

  • Stores Organisation: Keep the stores well-organised and accessible, particularly for fast-moving items.

  • System Support: Use cutting-edge systems like EAM and SAP to streamline stock control and provisioning, directly impacting asset availability.

  • Purchasing: Secure the best prices for goods, manage receipts, handle returns, and ensure efficient purchasing processes.

  • Documentation: Keep all stores-related documentation audit-ready, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Skills Required for the Stores & Purchasing Controller:

  • Experience working in a stores or purchasing role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with EAM and SAP systems (or similar inventory management tools).

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage stock levels effectively.
