Do you have a paralegal background or a track record in an in-house Contracts Specialist role?

We are recruiting a detail-oriented Contract Specialist for a fantastic organisation in Stockport and are looking for an individual with experience in drafting and amending high value and complex procurement or commercial contracts.

This exciting new role will see you providing support to the Procurement team by drafting and negotiating commercial contracts as well as improving.

What does the role entail?

To give a brief overview of the day to day:

  • Acting as first point of contact for any contract related queries
  • Preparing contracts for complex commercial projects to minimise risk and exposure to the business
  • Provide expert contract advice to the Procurement team
  • Act as lead negotiator, supporting colleagues in Procurement and the wider business
  • Liaise effectively with all stakeholders to ensure key updates are shared in a timely manner, and explaining risks and issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines by adoption of best-in-class procurement practices
  • Assist in a contract standardisation process across the supplier base and improve processes around contract amendment / approval
  • Mentor and coach the Procurement team to develop their knowledge of contract law
