RG Consultancy are working with a large non-profit organisation in Stockport who are looking to recruit a Payroll Specialist to support the finance department. The role has been created to manage the payroll alongside supporting a new system implementation. You will work alongside another payroll specialist and report to the Finance Manager.

The Role

  • To manage al aspects of the payroll process and support payroll process changes
  • Ensure payroll is processed in line with deadlines
  • Enter any extra pay (e.g. back-pay, deductions) into the system and run reports to check accuracy before processing
  • Enter pension details for new employees and manage pension schemes
  • Starters, leavers, sickness and unpaid leave
  • Ensure statutory pay is processed correctly, SMP, SPP, SSP
  • Ensure monthly payroll journals are accurate and on time
  • Prepare reports, P11d, P60, P35, P45 as required
  • Any ad hoc tasks as required and managing the payroll inbox
  • Supporting the department where needed as they undergo a system changeover

The Person

  • At least 3 to 5 years experience within an end-to-end payroll job
  • Experienced within high volume, varied and multiple payroll processes
  • Up to date knowledge of the UK payroll legislation
  • Experience working with system change/new implementation would be desirable but not essential
  • A CIPP qualification or part qualified would be an advantage
