Tradewind Recruitment is excited to announce an opportunity for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Marple. This role is ideal for a compassionate and resilient individual with experience working in schools and a strong commitment to supporting positive behavioural outcomes.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's pastoral and teaching staff to support students who may face challenges in behaviour and social-emotional development. You will provide targeted assistance to help students engage positively with their learning environment and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support classroom teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised behaviour plans
  • Foster a respectful and supportive environment, working to build trust and rapport with students
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate insights with teachers and pastoral staff, helping to adjust strategies as needed
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, both in and out of the classroom
  • Actively support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting self-confidence and resilience
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a school setting, particularly working with students on behaviour support
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding policies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt approaches for different students' needs
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting young people in their educational journey
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support or education are beneficial but not essential
