The Opportunity:

We have an opening for an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to join the operations team where they will influence our procurement operations, focusing on IT services, licensing, and product purchasing for complex client deals.

With responsibility for managing and coaching a small team, we are looking for someone with proven procurement experience to develop and expand the function bringing their breadth of knowledge and wealth of experience to the role where they will have the scope and autonomy to introduce innovative commercially focused initiatives to the function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities across IT services, licensing, and hardware/software products, ensuring cost-effective and timely purchasing for complex deals.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals to optimize supplier performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage supplier relationships to secure the best terms and negotiate contracts that support the company's objectives and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, finance) to understand procurement needs for customer solutions and ensure seamless integration into the delivery process.
  • Oversee the procurement cycle from sourcing to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices.
  • Utilize procurement software (SAGE, AutoTask) to manage and track orders, inventory, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor market trends to identify potential new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities in IT products and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for all procurement activities, including cost analysis, vendor performance, and inventory levels.
  • Provide leadership to a small procurement team, mentoring and supporting the development of procurement staff.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate policies in all procurement activities.
  • Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
  • Updating procurement policies and procedures
  • Work with our ESG Director to continuously identify opportunities to improve the environmental impact of our procurement and logistics activities.
  • Logistics management including taking delivery of incoming equipment and the shipping of equipment to customer sites. This will involve communicating with our customers and ensuring the delivery processes run smoothly.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in procurement within the IT sector, preferably for an MSP or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with IT services, licensing, and hardware/software purchasing.
  • Proficiency in SAGE and AutoTask for procurement and inventory management preferred however full training will be provided.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement projects for complex, high-value client deals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, ideally within a small procurement team.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • CIPS certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Full UK driving license.
