Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Service Manager (High Risk, Health and Community) for a domestic abuse charity based in Greater Manchester.

This is a full time, Fixed-term 12-month contract based in Stockport, with travel across various locations.

The salary is £34,070 per annum.

Purpose of the Post

The role of Service Manager (High Risk) has been created specifically to lead and secure service delivery and help develop and drive Stockport Without Abuse’s strategy with the CEO and the rest of the Management team. The Service Manager will have the responsibility of supporting the development and transformation of High Risk, Health and Community based services in addition to driving forward operational excellence.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To lead and manage the High Risk, Health and Community team, as agreed, using a robust performance management framework, informed by a focus on staff wellbeing; including caseload management, supervision & clinical supervision, learning & development and promotion of our organisational culture which delivers on our vision, mission and values and supports a strong sense of team within the service and with other services across the organisation.
  • To ensure the provision of trauma-informed, needs-led services to victims of varying risk levels and, where appropriate, their family, to help keep them safe and deliver positive outcomes to support them in their journey to a life free from domestic abuse.
  • To enable practitioners to work effectively within a multi-agency setting to address the safety of victims and ensure that their safety plans are coordinated through the local MARAC where appropriate based on risk level.
  • To ensure that all referrals are responded to within specified timescales, with a focus on providing timely, proactive intervention through individual safety planning and support planning, and within the Leading Lights framework of good practice.
  • To ensure practitioners and the service works closely with external partner agencies, advocating for victims to ensure they can access the support needed to address domestic abuse.
  • Manage a comprehensive monitoring program for all contracted work, including the preparation of quarterly and annual reports.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience at Leadership level in a domestic abuse organisation.
  • Managing delivery of services at a senior level.
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to domestic abuse.
  • Experience of developing and engaging successful partnerships with external organisations and different providers of services.

  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
  • Valid 'Right to Work’ document
  • Professional references covering the last two years
  • Due to the nature of this role a full clean driving license and access to a vehicle will be required.
