Job Title: Contract Software Test Engineer - 6-Months (Outside IR35)Location: Cheshire (Hybrid/On-site)Rate: £45-50 per hour (outside IR35)
We’re working with an exciting technology company in Cheshire that’s leading the way in developing innovative solutions for the construction industry. They’re looking for a Software Test Engineer to join their team for an initial 6-month contract and play a key role in transitioning their testing processes from manual to automated systems.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven commercial experience in software testing (manual and/or automated)
- Strong knowledge of Python for scripting
- Familiarity with either Windows or Linux systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
The Role:
Reporting to the Software Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of the company’s testing function, starting with manual and functional testing before progressing toward automated solutions. Your role will involve:
- Expanding and enhancing the company’s testing capabilities
- Managing and developing test cases, scripts, and associated documentation
- Designing and implementing automated test environments
- Testing on both embedded systems and PC platforms
