Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner and Purchaser to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role involves overseeing production schedules, ensuring timely procurement of materials, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production processes, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective purchasing of raw materials to meet production demands

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage work orders within MRP/ ERP System
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules considering customer requirements and production constraints
  • Analyse back orders, current orders, and upcoming orders to prioritise, plan, and schedule the production
  • Liase with Suppliers ensuring supply chains are updated on any events resulting in supply discrepancy or interruption
  • Work collaboratively with customer service to support customer requirements
  • Creation of production schedules
  • Maintain planning parameters to maximise performance
  • Continuous improvement of data processes and systems within operations planning
  • Proactively resolve issues and manage schedule risk
  • Calculation and maintenance of planned inventory levels and buffer stock
  • Placing orders with suppliers and monitoring pricing and delivery lead times
  • Demonstration and utilisation of 'Just in Time' principles - Utilising Lean manufacturing methodology

Requirements:

  • Experience in a planning role within a manufacturing environment / industry
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word / Powerpoint / Project )
  • Experience of working in operational environment, production, and or supply chain functions
  • Experience with MRP / ERP Systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all business levels

Salary :

£31,200 per annum

Shift Times:

Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Friday 7:00am - 1:30pm
