We are seeking a Senior Quality Technician with experience in the manufacturing industry, specifically within food packaging or with food BRCGS accreditation. This role is crucial in supporting the Quality Manager and partnering with production/operations to enhance quality awareness across the site.
Day-to-day of the role:- Cover for the Quality Manager during holidays or absences.
- Provide holiday cover for shift inspectors as needed.
- Conduct daily GMP audits to ensure the site complies with BRC requirements, internal procedures, and policies, and maintain product traceability.
- Inspect all completed job packs to ensure they are completed correctly, maintaining product traceability and ensuring any corrective actions are carried out.
- Support, develop, and share experiences with Shift Inspectors.
- Act as the designated person for new staff training regarding quality requirements/expectations on the factory floor.
- Monitor employees to ensure no prohibited items are brought onto the factory floor.
- Conduct monthly Glass & Plastic audits.
- Assist in external audit preparation and support during customer/third-party audits.
- Raise internal non-conformances where the site or product does not comply with internal procedures or BRC Standard, ensuring timely closure with the team.
- Manage all non-conforming products/returns on site, ensuring EFACS is maintained and up to date.
- Proactively seek and identify areas for Quality Improvement.
- Provide data analysis for Quality investigations as required.
- Proven experience within a manufacturing industry, specifically in food packaging or with food BRCGS accreditation.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of training and mentoring others.
