Children Social Worker - Assessment Team

Location: North East

We are currently expanding our Assessment Team and seeking passionate and dedicated Children Social Workers to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Analysis:

    • Conduct thorough assessments of children and their families to determine needs and risks.
    • Analyse information gathered from various sources to inform decision-making and intervention plans.
  2. Child Protection:

    • Work within a statutory framework to assess and manage risks to children.
    • Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with colleagues, partner agencies, and external stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals, both in writing and verbally.
  4. Court Proceedings:

    • Prepare clear and concise court reports as required.
    • Provide evidence and attend court hearings as a professional witness when necessary.
  5. Support and Intervention:

    • Provide direct support and intervention to children and families as part of the assessment process.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver effective services and support plans.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience in a children social work role, particularly in assessments.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
