Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at University Hospital of North Tees. The successful candidate will be providing support for children with a range of communication needs, including stammering, dysphagia, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), speech delay/disorder, neurodisability, and developmental communication disorders such as autism. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled therapist to contribute to the care of a diverse pediatric population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Write and contribute to Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
  • Provide tailored therapy for children with conditions including stammering, speech delays, DLD, neurodisabilities, and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Work collaboratively with families, educators, and other health professionals.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy interventions.
  • Manage a caseload, prioritizing clinical needs and ensuring effective treatment delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide advice and training to other professionals and carers.

Essential Criteria:

  • HCPC registered as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience in paediatric speech and language therapy, particularly in the assessment and management of developmental communication disorders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in working within the NHS or similar healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and best practices for treating children with speech and language disorders.
