Cost Accountant

Job Title: Cost & Systems AccountantLocation: Stoke-on-TrentSalary: Up to £55,000Reports to: Finance Director

About Us:Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be exclusively working on a Cost & Systems Accountant role to join our client based in Stoke-on-Trent. This role is ideal for a qualified or nearly qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA), with a solid understanding of stock management in ERP systems. If you have a keen eye for detail and are passionate about improving systems and processes, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain accurate stock valuations, ensuring they are up-to-date and correctly reflected in the trial balance each month-end.
• Update and maintain accurate data in SAP, ensuring integrity across the system.
• Develop and improve SAP reporting functions to meet the business's evolving needs, including KPIs and other essential data.
• Act as the key point of contact for any SAP-related issues and manage all system data.
• Organise and oversee stock counts to ensure accuracy.
• Liaise with auditors (internal and external) to provide timely information as required.

General Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all company Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
• Take on additional tasks as required, in line with your skills and abilities.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• CIMA or ACCA qualified or equivalent experience (or nearing qualification).
• Intermediate Excel skills and good ERP system knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive work ethic with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
• Ability to work autonomously and form strong, trustworthy relationships within the team.

Desirable:

• Experience using SAP B1 or another ERP system.
