My client, a market leader worldwide who are growing organically and via acquisition has a fantastic opening for a Financial Controller to join the business.

In this key position you act as a strategic business partner towards the commercial and operational directors and acting as a real enabler towards the business making a tangible impact on our organization. As financial expert, you lead the full finance organization and manage the human resource and transactional procurement team for Germany.

What is included in this role (but not limited to)?

Be a strategic business partner: provide insights and support and act as a trusted advisor and partner with cluster directors to drive business decisions.

People management and team leadership: Lead and develop a team responsible for finance, HR and procurement, fostering a collaborative environment

Lead Month-End and Year-end Closings: Ensure precise and timely reporting of group figures for all entities maintaining alignment between local GAAP and IFRS. Ensure statutory and group reporting following applicable standards.

Finance knowledge and support: oversee accounting, controlling supported by a dedicated finance team.

Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and principles on all End to End processes. Handle tax and treasury obligations and statutory requirements, ensure adherence with local and group standards.

Coordinate audits: Serve as the primary point of contact for group and statutory audits, working seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders.

M&A and scope changes: Proactively support the M&A (integration) process. Provide necessary support during pos-acquisition phase, including the migration of entities on the group ERP system

Oversee budgets and forecast processes and steer Financial accuracy and performance. Review and oversee the local budget, forecast and monthly performance process. Steer the controller in this respect.

Operational excellence: Support the cluster Directors clusters in developing and executing improvement initiatives with the aim to improve cluster performance and internal processes

Manage the Human Resources team: Oversees the human resource activities from payroll to hire to retire, managed by a dedicated team.

Manage the transactional Procurement of the cluster.

Business Acumen and Transitioning Tasks: Manage transactional tasks of all disciplines (finance, HR, procurement) effectively and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cluster performance.

About You:Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in a finance leadership role in a multi-site organization, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification
  • Experience of working in an international context
  • Experience in the big 4 in combination with a finance leader position in a multinational company is a plus
  • Demonstrated excellence in finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting.
  • Experience in the HR field is a plus.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (we use SAP S4 Hana), advanced Excel and Power BI.
  • Proficient in IFRS and UK GAAP

Expertise:

  • A strong generalist financial profile with extensive and in depth knowledge across the full scope of financial related fields (controlling, reporting, statutory reporting, audit, tax, treasury, cash flow and working capital management,…)
  • Clear communicator, able to communicate (financial) information effectively
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams by setting clear goals, providing direction and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Experience providing critical input to the leadership level and other members of regional/country level management regarding the financial performance of the company, including actions related to plan.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with different priorities at the same time
  • Experience with setting up and improving processes
  • Experience with change management and professionalizing organizations
