Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per year plus benefits (Depending on experience)

Location: Staffordshire

Term: Full Time & Permanent (Hybrid - up to 2 days remote)

Rota: Monday - Friday | 9am - 5pm

The accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Senior accountant with accounts reviewing experience to join their growing team on a full-time basis.

Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of the role is to provide professional accountancy and accounts reviewing to SME businesses and operational support to the business and branch.

Duties & Responsibilities

In the role you will carry out the following duties:

  • Review all of the practice files that have been completed by the team, feedback and train the team on review points. Including the review of; Limited company accounts, sole traders, partnerships and tax returns.
  • Prepare file notes and any areas of interest you think are applicable for the client relationship director to hold the meeting.
  • Post review adjustments to bring the file to internal completion
  • Assist in pre audit accounts preparation and guidance of the team for our audit clients
  • Support the team through work that they carry out, train and identify training needs for the team to be covered by mandatory training.
  • Manage the team’s apprenticeship requirements and ensure all studies and training are up to date.
  • Assist the operations team with the work planning requirements, ensuring sufficient time and resources to complete the jobs.
  • Be the point of contact for some of the client base
  • Servicing a portfolio of clients
  • Performance management and billing targets
  • Building a positive working relationship with clients and the practice
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  • Knowledge of accountancy computer software including CAS, IRIS, Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
  • Dealing with any client queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assisting colleagues and trainees within the team with development and technical advice

Essential Criteria

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 3-4 years post qualified experience in a practice environment (preferably)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Confidently able to offer recommendations and advice to our clients.
  • Highly competent with outstanding commercial acumen and a solid grasp of business aims and objective
  • Demonstrable experience and a proven track record in a similar role
  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
