Join a prestigious civils contractor with a turnover of 1.3bn, renowned for delivering exceptional infrastructure projects across the UK. My client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Site Engineer to join the team for an exciting public realm works scheme in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Role: As a Freelance Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of the project. This scheme involves comprehensive highways, drainage, and paving works, enhancing the infrastructure and public spaces in Stoke-on-Trent. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of the project, ensuring that all works are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the execution of highways, drainage, and paving works.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct site surveys, setting out, and measurements.
  • Liaise with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications and standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer, preferably within the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, and paving works.
  • Proficient in using surveying and setting out equipment.
  • Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and certifications.
