Role & Client Overview:

Based on-site at HMYOI Werrington, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Digital Skills Tutor to support learners in developing key digital competencies. You will deliver engaging courses, enhancing employability prospects and helping individuals build a strong foundation in digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Digital Skills Courses: Teach digital literacy and IT skills, ensuring learners gain practical and employable knowledge.
  • Develop Tailored Learning Plans: Provide individualised support and adapt training to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Engage and Motivate Learners: Use a variety of training methods to encourage participation and build confidence in digital technology.
  • Assess and Track Progress: Regularly evaluate learner development, providing feedback, guidance, and additional support where necessary.
  • Foster a Supportive Learning Environment: Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages learners to engage in their personal and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the Wider Team: Work with colleagues to ensure courses align with learner needs and industry standards.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

  • Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in digital skills training or IT education.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with a passion for helping learners succeed.
  • Ability to deliver training across various subjects, using innovative and adaptable teaching methods.

Desirable:

  • A teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Previous experience in a prison education or rehabilitative learning environment.

If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, full support will be provided to achieve one as part of your probationary period.
