Who we are looking for

A CAD Draughtsperson, who will specialise in design and verification of existing structures and construction based drawings.

You will be an essential part of the maintenance team, responsible for the verification and production of new and existing construction based drawings, creating concept designs for projects ranging from fit-outs to new developments.

During each project there will be opportunities to collaborate with a range of participants, from architects to construction workers. You will manage the curation of existing and archived drawings.

You must demonstrate a can-do attitude and have the ability to take ownership and act proactively to accomplish relevant tasks with a scrupulous attention to detail.

The role is based at our office in Stoke-on-Trent, however travel will be required to other sites within the property portfolio.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Computer Aided Design (7689) Award in Parametric Modelling level 1, 2 or 3.
  • Award in 2D CAD 7689-05.
  • Award in 3D CAD 7689-06.
  • Level 3 certificate in CAD 7689-08.
  • Engineering Science or Technological qualification.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and read and interpret technical diagrams, whilst reporting technical information as required with thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Confident when using computers and their relevant software packages.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK from their first day of employment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with multiple departments to interpret project briefs and create maps, diagrams or plans that meet specifications and apply legislative guidelines.
  • Visiting various sites to survey and gather information to determine limitations or feasibility of designs.
  • Carrying out verification and in depth research to confirm designs.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and line management keeping them informed and updated of project work and any related issues.
  • Utilising appropriate design software resources, such as AutoCAD and solid works.
  • Conveying technical specifications, materials, assembly procedures and site requirements via Building Information Modelling.
  • Documenting work effectively using a range of resources including Word, Visio, Adobe Acrobat and Excel.
  • Maintaining current and archived information relative to the role.
  • Planning and prioritising tasks and activities to ensure tight deadlines are met.
