Due to the continued growth and ambitions to scale the business further, we are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to provide additional leadership, vision and accounting expertise in the department.

The position would suit a candidate not looking for full-time employment but something more flexible to allow time for other interests and activities.

We would envisage the role being 1-2 days a week on average which might be (after the initial period of familiarisation) for example, 1 week on followed by 2 or 3 weeks off. It will be as flexible as possible around MI and other accounting deadlines, and can be discussed at or prior to interview.

There is nonetheless potential board level progression and a full-time role in the longer term, if this is in line with the aspirations of the right candidate.

Job Description

Review current processes and make recommendations for improvement.

Oversee and manage the overall accounting and finance operations. Analyse and interpret results, and identify trends to MD.

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports (MI info, depreciation, forecasting).

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, and provide guidance for Finance Manager and MD re capacity and KPIs.

Supporting the Finance Manager

Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance and profitability. Re-establish and improve cost and credit control systems.

Manage and coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.

Collaborate with external auditors to carry out external auditing.

Participate in performance evaluation and risk assessment.

The Successful Applicant

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant.

Proven managerial skills.

Experience in the industrial/manufacturing sector.

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
