Your new role
- Manage, oversee and assist with the end-to-end processing of all payroll and pension
- Resolve and review payroll queries
- Ensure that procedures and processes are followed accurately to meet legislative requirement
- Implementing new and changing employment legislation to ensure accuracy
- Manage and supervise the payroll team, completing regular training, feedback, development plans and admin
- Ensure team are trained and up-to-date with payroll best practices and legislative changes
- Ensure that all HMRC submissions are made
- Carry out payroll reconciliations and ensure all legislative timescales are adhered to
- Ensure that the payroll reports are provided to the finance team in a timely manner
- Involvement in process improvement and changes to, developing efficiencies and a positive culture within the payroll and wider finance team
- Maintain and monitor the payroll systems and software
What you'll need to succeed
- End to end payroll experience within a fast-paced environment
- Experience in monthly, salaried, weekly and hourly payroll processing
- Experience of leading and coaching a small team
- Experience dealing with complex payroll processing
- Ability to follow and implement new payroll legislation
- CIPP - desirable, not essential
- Sage 50 Payroll - desirable
- Undertake a clear DBS check
