Your new role

  • Manage, oversee and assist with the end-to-end processing of all payroll and pension
  • Resolve and review payroll queries
  • Ensure that procedures and processes are followed accurately to meet legislative requirement
  • Implementing new and changing employment legislation to ensure accuracy
  • Manage and supervise the payroll team, completing regular training, feedback, development plans and admin
  • Ensure team are trained and up-to-date with payroll best practices and legislative changes
  • Ensure that all HMRC submissions are made
  • Carry out payroll reconciliations and ensure all legislative timescales are adhered to
  • Ensure that the payroll reports are provided to the finance team in a timely manner
  • Involvement in process improvement and changes to, developing efficiencies and a positive culture within the payroll and wider finance team
  • Maintain and monitor the payroll systems and software

What you'll need to succeed

  • End to end payroll experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in monthly, salaried, weekly and hourly payroll processing
  • Experience of leading and coaching a small team
  • Experience dealing with complex payroll processing
  • Ability to follow and implement new payroll legislation
  • CIPP - desirable, not essential
  • Sage 50 Payroll - desirable
  • Undertake a clear DBS check
